URWERK has been making traditionalists’ jaws drop since 1997. Its innovative complications and futuristic designs have attracted what might charitably be called a niche clientele. The early watches were minimalist and functional, space age “time machines.” Now, Urwerk’s avant-garde watches don’t seem quite as off-beat as they used to, though they are just a little too far ahead of time for many people.
